Johnson Wedding
The Abbey/The Mezz

WWE’s Cruiserweight Champion Cedric Alexander married his stunning professional wrestler wife Aerial Monroe last Friday at the chic lounge venue The Abbey/The Mezz. The pro-wrestler duo worked alongside Simply Elegant Soirees and the theater-style venue to create a Gatsby-style wedding. The emerald greens, ivory feathers, and clear crystals created a more romantic and alluring space.

The Cedric’s jaw dropped as his beautiful bride Aerial made her glamorous ceremony reveal entrance to Major’s “Why I Love You”. Once the two said “I do”, they shimmied back down the aisle to Heavy D and the Boyz‘ upbeat hit, “Now That We Found Love”. After that, the guests enjoyed the soothing sounds of Frank Sinatra during the cocktail hour, while the bride, groom and bridal party had their photoshoot session. Once the wedding guests moved into the reception area, the eclectic couple made their grand entrance as husband and wife to “Let’s Go Crazy” by Prince. Aerial shared a sentimental sway with her father to “Daughters” by John Mayer. She and her Pappy got down to Pharell‘s “Happy”. During dinner, DJ/MC Andy and DJ/MC Jayson played some nice 80’s and 90’s soft rock. After “Sugar” by Maroon 5 for the cake cutting, the DJ duo kept the dance floor packed for the rest of the night, playing latin dance pop songs, 90’s, modern, and southern hip hop tracks, classic rock tunes and some classic R&B records – a little something for everyone to dance to. They closed off the evening playing the classic “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey. Please enjoy the following photos captured by Heather Rice Photography.
